Family Learning Festival
We will be taking part in Watford's  Family Learning Festival with a special lesson at the Newton Price Centre, Grosvenor Road, Watford. We would like local people who speak Russian to come and encourage us in our attempts to progress with learning the language and to bring their families to meet
our family members.  The class will be run by Fiona Lean, our Russian teacher, who plans to  make it
lively and interesting - as well as relevant to those of us hoping to  go to Novgorod next year.

Karelia was formerly linked to Novgorod, it is an area known for its forests, rivers and lakes and was an important centre for Peter the Great's shipbuilding industry. Fiona will discuss how      its geography influenced its historical, social and cultural development and expand on some of its more beautiful locations, some of them designated World Heritage Sites.
